Who is the Green Hornet?

A quick look on Wikipedia gives an overview of the slight convoluted history of the revival of the Green Hornet, suffice to say George Clooney and Kevin Smith were both involved in the project at one time, but today I noticed this bit on ign pointing to a teaser page for…Seth Rogen as the Green Hornet! I had heard that this might happen before but had dismissed it as a silly rumor. Now that it is official I am not sure what to think…but seeing as I have never seen more…

Symbian goes home to Daddy.

As quoted from today’s Macrumors front page: Seemingly in a response to growing competition from Apple and Google, Nokia is buying out Symbian Ltd and will open its mobile operating system for royalty free use. Nokia will pay $410 million to buy the remaining 52% share of the company that it does not already own and establish the Symbian Foundation. “This is a significant milestone in our software strategy” said Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, CEO of Nokia. “Symbian is already the leading open platform for mobile devices. Canadian Internet Updatepalooza.

There’s a few points of interest regarding the issues facing Canadian internet access this past week, which actually makes for some good reading, so here we go. With regards to the Bell throttling issue raised by the CAIP, the Globe & Mail has an article that suggests that despite ruling against the CAIP’s request for interim relief on the issue,  the CRTC is leaning towards the CAIP’s position.  Part of the CRTC mandate is to ensure that there’s no interference with the application and development of information technologies, and Bell…

We Launch The rgbFilter Podcast!

It’s finally here, and I’m proud to announce the launch of the first episode of the new rgbFilter podcast. From the time we started this website, doing a podcast has been one of the main goals. The ‘we’ are myself, Alex, Paul and Dave. So, over the past few months, we painted a green screen, designed a set, did some test shooting, had a camera stolen (which really sucked), did some more tests and false starts, but now it’s out in the wild. It’s still a little rough around the…

AMD’s Next Gen Graphics Card

Shortly after the details of Nvidia’s new chipset leaked out, AMD’s demoed their new RV770 chipset. The short clip above is real-time game play using their Ruby character and was rendered by a single PC equipped with two “RV770” codenamed graphics cards powered by an AMD Phenom™ X4 9850 Processor and AMD 790FX Chipset. AMD is planning on introducing the RV770 ‘this summer’, along with a more detailed demo of it’s capabilities. Though the ‘consumer-level’ card is clearly aimed at gamers, I can’t help but wonder how it’ll perform when…
