At X’10 – Windows Phone 7 with Xbox Live
Alex and I attended Microsoft’s X’10 event in Toronto, and the first order of business was to get a look at Windows Phone 7 in action – actually, I played a little Fable 3 before Alex showed up, but that’s another interview in the pipeline, but I digress. Greg Milligan of Microsoft gave us a demonstration of the new mobile platform, and showed off some of the Xbox Live integration as well. All in all it looks pretty impressive, and the screen response, even on the LG prototype phone (which won’t come to retail), was really smooth.
UPDATE: Sometimes, when you have seven or eight video interviews in the pipeline, and certainly a whole lot more coming up after Fan Expo, it’s easier to just put the video out for consumption, and move onto the next thing. I just wanted to point out that Surur over at wmpoweruser.com has done a pretty good job of encapsulating what Greg Milligan had to say about the platform, including cross-platform effects (such as the previously mentioned Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst having an effect on the console game), as well as the possibility of real time multiplayer using WiFi, amongst other bits of info.
The most disappointing part? No Zune Pass for Canada until next year.
