FrankenGame inFAMOUS looks like it might be fun
Far be it from the lads at rgbFilter to pander to the whims of the game development community, but since we freely admit that we have yet to accept dime one from ANY game developer (or to be honest, anyone at all, much to Alex’s chagrin), I can honestly say that this preview I’m about to write comes from a place of total discretion and honesty. And that preview is simply this: inFAMOUS looks fucking awesome.
InFAMOUS Channels the essences of some of my fave time-wasters of the past few years. Part BioShock, part Crackdown, part Splinter Cell, part XIII (screw you, it was underrated), and including a healthy dose of Spider-Man 2, inFAMOUS chronicles the adventures of protagonist Cole as he tracks through, and in turn lays waste to, Empire City.
inFAMOUS is the brainchild of Suckerpunch, the minds behind Sly Cooper (That devious thevious racoonus we all know and love), and perhaps more notably, Rocket: Robot on Wheels, for the N64.
inFAMOUS is slated for a May 26th release on the PS3. If you’re not convinced by IGN’s 9.2 rating to go pick it up (after all, they’re the ones who gave an 8.8 to this festering turdpile), maybe this will whet your appetite:

If you’re complaining about IGN giving Far Cry 2 an 8.8, I should point out the bigger travesty, which is them giving Killzone 2 a 9.4…
I can’t trust a thing IGN says. 9.4 for KZ?!?! That’s a travesty.
I was SO disappointed when I cracked Far Cry 2. I’m about 8 hours into it and I feel like I’ve gotten nowheresville. I might run down to GameShack today and trade it in for Uncharted. (Which would be silly considering I still haven’t even taken the wrapper off F.E.A.R. 2 yet :P)
That said I played the inFAMOUS demo last night. It’s great, but far from perfect. Lots of little issues to work around which make for a more-than-relatively frustrating gameplay. If I buy it I’ll likely play it on EASY. Not because the missions are particularly challenging; because the dynamics of the game tend to make completing said missions ore frustrating than entertaining.

I’ve played the demo so often now that it’s become imperative that I run out and buy it at my earliest convenience. For all its flaws and frustrations, it’s just fucking cool.
