Toronto, Canada, iPhone launch line up, LIVE

WE HAVE SHOT A LOT OF VIDEO CLIPS WHICH CAN BE SEEN IN OUR UPCOMING PODCAST

Time : 3 am

rgbFilter is LIVE on the scene at the line-up at the Yonge and Dundas Rogers Plus store in Toronto, where at 8am there will be a special launch event for the iphone, with Rogers providing breakfast and prizes – are they trying to make up for all the bad publicity that they generated, or is this all a carefully orchestrated plan from them ? As the saying goes there is no such thing as bad publicity! Whatever the case is, it seems to have worked, because the line up has grown as the night has progressed.

Ryan has been here since 1 am, and I have just arrived, and we will be doing regular updates as the night progresses. Currently there are 55 in line – hopefully there will be enough iPhones in stock.

Stay tuned for lots of photos, comments and some unscientific polls…

But first… Ryan’s interview from yesterday evening with first two people in line at the Yonge & Dundas.

BTW, even though Jordon didn’t get any free promo stuff from Rogers or Apple, we gave him a nifty t-shirt. Not bad I hope.

(PS: sorry about spelling your name wrong in the video… the reporters suck.)

Update 2 : 4 am

OUR FIRST POLL : DID YOU SIGN RUINEDIPHONE.COM ?

Yes – 52%
No – 48%

Update 3…getting closer…5 am

It has been raining like crazy and I have snuck into the Yonge and Dundas AMC theatre foyer to post some images…

Our second Poll, which I don’t have the numbers for because I left it in my bag, revealed that the 16gb black iPhone seems to be the choice for most, followed by the 8gb black and the 16gb white being the least popular choice…odd since for me that is the one to go for to reduce the fingerprints of the iPhone.

6 am, all the major media outlets, CTV, CITY-TV, Global, AM640, CFRB 1010 are here…mostly interviewing the first guy in line, 16 year old Jordan, who was kind enough to wear our t-shirt.

Now Rogers has sent out sales reps to go down the line and ask people about plans and hardware upgrade choices – I overheard, but might be mistaken, that upgrade customers are going to have to go home and hook up their phones to iTunes themselves to unbrick them.
