2010 Toronto Zombie Walk – UPDATED
Just a friendly reminder that the 8th annual Toronto Zombie Walk is only a few days away, starting Saturday October 23rd at pm. The mass of undead corpses seems to grow every year, and with that, the Zombie Walk now requires registration (online registration now closed – see the site for in-person registration), mainly for city logistics purposes. Although you can register on the day, your best bet is to register in advance to save time before the event. If my number is any indicator, they’ve already surpassed 6000 officially registered walking dead.
This year also marks the first year there will be a Grand Marshall to start the feastivities…
Oderus Urungus, chief scumdog of marauding mutant metal impresarios GWAR, will be leaving the comfort of his Antarctic Cyber Fortress for the zombie infested ruins of Toronto on Saturday October the 23rd! Oderus will drop by Trinity Bellwoods Park before the commencement of the Eighth Annual Toronto Zombie Walk, to be given the newly minted title of First Honorary Grand Marshall at 3pm. He will begin the walk by making an opening announcement to the ravenous undead hordes before sending them forth with the new tradition of The Throwing of The Severed Head. This should whip you maggot ridden decaying masses into action!
Of course, once the shambling is over with, there’s plenty for a brain-hungry zombie to do, including a post-walk show by The Von Drats, a 35mm screening of Return Of The Living Dead at the Bloor Cinema, and the official after party at the Bovine starting at 9pm.
You can get all the details at the official site!
