2009 in review – rgb style
With 2009 a over week in the rear view mirror, we decided to take a look back at our favourite movies and games from the year, and present our top list. Instead of picking THE best movie and game of the year, we all made individual lists, then I tallied them up. Anything with more than one vote makes it on the list.
Movies: If there’s one thing that’s clear from this list, it was a pretty good year for science fiction fans. A total of 3 SF films made it onto the list.
District 9 (review in show)
Drag Me To Hell (review in show)
Avatar (review in show)
The Hurt Locker
Star Trek (review in show)
District 9 and Drag Me To Hell stood out with 4 and 3 votes respectively. Honourable mentions with one nod each go to UP, The Hangover, Coraline, Public Enemies, 9 (the animated movie), The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and Paranormal Activity.
Games: Unlike movies, where there were a couple of stand out favourites, every game in the list got exactly 2 votes. If you’ve been following the show over the past year, these should come as no surprise. A couple of surprises: seeing casual games and DLC making it into the roster (either as a pick or an honourable mention).
Assassin’s Creed II (review in show)
Left 4 Dead 2 (review – same as AC II show)
Plants vs. Zombies (review in show)
Honourable mentions go to 1 vs 100, Empire: Total War, Batman: Arkham Asylum, inFAMOUS, Prototype and GTA 4: The Ballad of Gay Tony.
