Montreal Musicians and Artists Get Together to Help Haiti Quake Victims
L’Union fait la force is a group that contacted TELUS last week to help organize a benefit concert in Montreal this Thursday to raise money to help Haiti. The show will be at the TELUS Theatre in Montreal this Thursday and many local artists will take the stage. The tickets are $20 each and all the proceeds will go to three humanitarian organizations the Red Cross, Médecins du Monde and Clowns Sans Frontières. Tickets can be purchase through Admission Network (www.admission.com) and TELUS will also make available a call centre to collect donations from the public for the duration of the benefit concert. TELUS mobile subscribers can also dial *2323 to call in their generous donations the day of the event.
Montreal, January 18, 2010 – The day after Haiti was devastated by a massive quake, L’Union fait la force group was created and will be hosting a benefit concert to help Haiti, this Thursday, January 21 at the TELUS Theatre.
A diverse group of socially committed local artists will take the stage during this benefit concert to raise funds and help rebuild Haiti, the pearl of the Antilles.
On stage at the TELUS Theatre: the show will feature Muzion (with an exclusive number), Linda Thalie, Loco Locass, Dubmatique, Les Colocs, Bad News Brown, Dupuis, Marc Antoine, Jonas & Corey acoustic band, Rachelle Jeanty, Dan Bigras, Frank Julien, Paul Piché with appearances from Pénélope McQuade, Angelo Cadet, Geneviève Borne, Didier Lucien and Herby Moreau. Other names will be announced by Wednesday, January 20.
United for Haiti
The benefit concert is being held at the TELUS Theatre, which has graciously offered its premises as well as 50% of all beverage proceeds. Employees support this magnanimous gesture and will be volunteering their services for the evening.
TELUS will be an active fundraising participant: “It is crucial to TELUS and to its 5,000 team members in Quebec to take part in this effort to provide assistance to the people of Haiti. Being a part of L’Union fait la force benefit concert is the perfect opportunity for us to show our support for Quebec’s Haitian community and for their families and friends in urgent need of aid,” stated Anne-Marie Laberge, Vice President, Communications Marketing at TELUS. “We are inviting everyone to call and to give generously next Thursday.”
To meet the demand for help from Haitian communities here in Quebec and in Haiti, TELUS will make available a telephone centre to collect donations from the public for the duration of the benefit concert. TELUS mobile subscribers can dial *2323 to call in their generous donations. Moreover, the company pledges to contribute an amount equal to the funds raised during the concert up to $25,000 to further aid the millions of desperate Haitian survivors.
Proceeds from the benefit concert will be donated to three humanitarian organizations: the Red Cross, Médecins du Monde and Clowns Sans Frontières. Access to the benefit concert is restricted to adults 18 and over.
