Samsung Galaxy S Street Party tomorrow with Mystery Band
Continuing the hype around the new Bell Samsung Galaxy S phone was the announcement, last week, of a street party happening tomorrow, featuring a mystery band.
Summer’s Hottest Street Concert Fast Approaching
TORONTO, July 29, 2010 — The secret continues as we approach this summer’s ultimate street party featuring one of Canada’s hottest bands and the new premium Samsung Galaxy S smartphone. It will be good to be mobile on August 4th.
What: Street concert event open to the public
When: August 4, 2010, show starts at 7:00 p.m.
Where: Union Station – Union Square Plaza, 65 Front Street West
Who: You’ll have to wait to find out!
On the official Samsung Mobile twitter account a series of hints have been dropped, which are as follows: ‘They’re in the prime of your youth’, ‘Make sure you’re in the FRONT ROW’, ‘Wish you were in Montreal tonight?” and ‘When’s the next eclipse?’. All these clues point to the band in question being Metric. Let’s hope our guess was correct — though I don’t think we win a prize if we are.
What is interesting about this party is that, more so than any other phone in recent memory, (the iPhone does not count, since that hype is Apple driven, and worldwide) the Galaxy S is getting a lot more promotion that average, especially for a phone launch in Canada.
Both Samsung and Bell must be betting big on this phone being a huge success. Hopefully Bell won’t get burned as they did with the Palm Pre, which they are now desperately trying to unload stock of.
